Wagstaff working in partnership with D2 Architecural Services successfully complete the full turnkey Interior Fit-out and Furniture Package for Zonal's new 20,800 sq ft office

Zonal at Tanfield is one of Edinburgh’s most prestigious office developments. With an emphasis on design and quality, the client was happy to entrust the full project to our designated Project Management and Interior Solutions team.


We were acting as the Principal Contractor and CDM co-ordinatoroverseeing the entire project, as well as the clients own M&E installation. Our space planning and furniture proposal involved the addition of parameter partition offices with acoustic detailing, designated hub break out areas, state of the art audio visual systems as well as feature lighting. All products specified throughout the project were high quality brands such as Vitra, Boss and Abstracta. The project was carried out within an occupied building and we made every effort to ensure that no inconvenience was caused to other tenants. The project was completed within 16 weeks.

Some key points of this project: Wagstaff sourced,ordered, delivered and installed all furniture, fixtures and equipment. The programme of works included mobilisation through to snagging and handover including itemisation of fit-out services and furniture installations. Change control implemented through Request for Information (RFI) and Confirmation of Verbal Instruction (CVI) processes. Wagstaff Project Managers attended weekly on-site progress meetings reporting on project progress and items for client and design team consideration. Project challenges included delivering an innovative design solution, partitioning finishes to exposed concrete soffit ceiling, 3 meter glass partitioning and doors to office space, sprinkler system realignment, landlord engagement around fit-out within existing shell, as well as delivering the project within a live facility. The project value was £700,000 & the snagging period was 2 weeks.
