Due to a rapid staff expansion programme, easyJet were carrying out 3 site projects all at the same time:
Site 1 - Hanger 89
Head Office re-stack to accommodate 800 staff.
Site 2 - The Academy
New extension to accommodate 200 marketing staff.
Site 3 - Concorde House
New training Academy based at Gatwick Airport.
Following a competitive tender exercise, Wagstaff were selected to supply and deliver furniture for these areas to finish the space immediately following Contractor works.
The deadlines for all projects were key, but especially for Concorde House, which was to become a second training Academy and so installation had to coincide with the intake of new recruits. An operational airport presents many challenges, although both the Academy and Concorde House offered a more straightforward prospect in that installation would follow the refurbishment and so we were presented with a clean and ready site. Hanger 89 on the other hand, posed a much more challenging aspect in that site was occupied 24/7.
Spread over 6 phases, areas were to be cleared on a Friday evening, re decorated and carpeted with new furniture in place and ICT commissioned all in good time for the returning staff on Monday morning.
